Two or more threads are paired or cabled to form a combined thread (10), immediately before or during the use of paired thread in textile machine. An independent claim is also included for a device for pairing and interlacing two or more threads and guiding coupled thread automatically to the textile machine. The device comprises an unit for picking up and combining the threads (11,12), tautening unit for stretching an elastic thread, unit (A) for pairing and interlacing adjacent threads (where one thread is drafted if necessary) and an accumulator (220) for collecting and accumulating specific amount of compound thread guided from the pairing and interlacing unit.
