PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for centering a crack shaft with high accuracy in a short time by a procedure based on an empirical rule without a theoretical analysis. SOLUTION: The method for centering a crank shaft 1 having a journal part 2, pin part 3 and crank arm 4 comprises rotatably supporting the journal part 2 by support means 9 and centering the crank shaft 1 by adjusting the supporting height of the support means 9, wherein deflection of all of the crank arms 4 is measured during one revolution of the crank shaft 1 and the height of all of the supporting means 9 is adjusted at the same time using the results of the measurement.
