PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating device (sputtering coating device) capable of inexpensively and continuously forming a dot pattern on the surface of a work material. SOLUTION: The coating device A is composed of the work material 1 and a pattern spreading device B mounted to cross the work material 1. The pattern spreading device B is composed of a trench filled with a coating material (α), a plurality of spreading rolls 4 having a brush part 5 formed on an axially erected shaft 4a and a scattering member 6. The brush part 5 of the spreading roll 4 is in contact with the coating material (α) in the trench 3 and the scattering member 6 is arranged to be in contact with the brush part 5 at an optional position of the outer periphery of the spreading roll 4.
