<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head which can satisfy strength characteristic along with a higher restitution characteristic of the head. SOLUTION: In the golf club head of a metal hollow wood type in which at least an impact area of the surface 1 of a face is made up of one sheet-like shell 2, which 2 is welded at an opening part of an outer shell 3 to form a hollow-structured head body 4 and the weld part 5 exists along a part of the contour of the surface 1 of the face, a concentric circle S2 is determined with the radius R2 thereof as given by R1+(R3-R1)/n (wherein n=2 to 3) when the radius of a circle S1 inscribing the contour of the surface 1 of the face is represented by R1 and the radius of a circle S3 circumscribing the contour of the surface 1 of the face R3 centered on the center of the surface 1 of the face and a welding bead existing at a part along the contour of the surface 1 of the face out of the weld part 5 is kept from melting into the head in the area sandwiched by at least the circles S2 and S1.</p> |
