PURPOSE: To inexpensively constitute a receiver used for receiving digital broadcast signals from a plurality of broadcasting enterprises using different conditional access systems. CONSTITUTION: In a method for receiving digital broadcast, the conditional access system corresponding to an IC card loaded in an IC card interface section 108 is first discriminated. When the IC card is the effective card corresponding to the conditional access system of a stream TS outputted from a change-over switch 113 corresponding to the channel tuning operation of the user of the card, a CPU 101 controls to perform conditional access processing to the stream TS by using the contract information and the information on the scramble key managed by the IC card. Namely, when the program designated through the channel tuning operation is an object of conditional access, a descrambling section 114 enables the user to look and listen a program by descrambling the program. Therefore, the user can receive digital broadcast signals from broadcasting enterprises A and B by only changing the IC card loaded in the interface section 108. |
