PURPOSE: A control circuit for a crank case heater in an air conditioner is provided to prevent power loss, and to lengthen a life span of the heater by turning off a compressor and the heater at high temperature in summer not to be necessary to preheat the compressor by operating the crank case heater. CONSTITUTION: A control circuit of a crank case heater(106) is composed of a temperature sensor(114) detecting temperature; the crank case heater preheating a compressor(104); a first switching unit opening and closing a passage to supply power to the crank case heater; and a control unit(102) regulating the first switching unit based on the temperature detected from the temperature sensor. The compressor and the crank case heater are controlled individually with adjusting a compressor control relay or a heater control relay. The compressor does not need to be preheated by the crank case heater at high temperature in summer. Power loss is reduced, and the life span of the heater is lengthened with turning off the compressor and the heater.
