PURPOSE: A dry toner is provided to prevent the sticking to members of a fixing device regardless of the configuration of the fixing device, obtain stable high image quality even when the toner is used under high humidity or low humidity condition, and prevent image defects with time. CONSTITUTION: In the dry toner having toner particles containing at least a binder resin and magnetic iron oxide, particles containing liberated iron elements exist by 100 to 350 pieces per 10,000 toner particles. The weight average particle size of the toner is 5 μm to 12 μm. In particles longer than 3 μm particle size contains such particles more than 90%, by number, more than 0.90 circularity(a) calculated by formula: a=L0/L, wherein L0 is the circumference length of a circle having the same projected area as that of the particle image and L is the circumference length of the particle image. The cut rate Z and the weight average particle size X of the toner, and the cumulative value Y of the particles more than 0.950 circularity, by number, and the toner weight average particle size X satisfy specified relations.
