PURPOSE: A latch for opening and closing a vehicle deck is provided to open and close a deck conveniently by using the latch with applying light force, and to support stably by a spring without noise. CONSTITUTION: A hook is welded into a rear panel(12) of a deck, and a fixing plate(22) is combined with a front of a side panel(11). Sliding plate guides(18) are formed at both sides of the fixing plate, and a sliding plate(19) is moved along the sliding plate guides. A fixing shaft moving slit(20) is formed horizontally in the sliding plate, and a latch(13) is fixed in the upper part of the sliding plate to turn. A spring supporting part(16) is formed in the end of the latch, and a compression spring(15) is inserted to the latch. A rotary plate is fastened in a lever fixing shaft in the lower part of the sliding plate, and the lever fixing shaft is fastened in the fixing plate. The fixing shaft is fastened in a lever(17) through the fixing shaft moving slit, and a protrusion(23) is formed in the rotary plate. A groove is formed in the lower part of the rotary plate, and a beam spring is fixed in the sliding plate guide. The deck is opened and closed conveniently with using the latch by applying light force, and the latch is supported stably with the spring without noise.
