PURPOSE: A digital television receiver and a method of controlling an antenna of the receiver are provided to improve integration of the digital television receiver, to simplify hardware of the receiver, and to reduce manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION: A digital television receiver includes an antenna(100) that receives digital television broadcasting channel signals and has direction, a signal processor(108) for tuning a desired channel signal and processing the tuned channel signal into a desired form, and a detector(104) for detecting status signals of the channel signal outputted from the signal processor. The receiver further has a memory(105) for, whenever a new status signal is detected, sorting the new detected status signal with previously detected status signals to store the signals, a controller(106) for comparing the new status signal with the previous status signals to generate a control signal corresponding to the optimum direction of the antenna, and an interface for providing the control signal to the antenna. |
