PURPOSE: A stem for a cathode ray tube is provided, which can prevent a crack of a stem mound due to a load by strengthening the intensity of the stem mound, and thus can prevent a clogging fail of a shadow mask due to the crack of the stem mound. CONSTITUTION: The stem(2) comprises a circular stem part(6) fused with a neck part(4) in a body, and an exhaust pipe(8) comprised in a center of the stem part to exhaust the inside of a bulb, and a number of leads(14) connected with each electrode(12) of an electron gun(10). The stem further comprises a number of stem mounds(16) fixing and supporting each lead to the stem part and constituted with discriminative shapes according to loads operating at the lead. The stem mound is formed in a body with the stem part. The lead transfers a voltage signal from an external set circuit and also applies a load of the electron gun to the stem.
