CYCLONE DUST COLLECTOR OF VACUUM CLEANER

PURPOSE: A cyclone dust collector of a vacuum cleaner is provided to collect dust and contaminants contained in the air sucked via a suction brush by using the centrifugal force generated by a cyclone. CONSTITUTION: The cyclone dust collector(5) of a vacuum cleaner comprises a cyclone body(11), a contaminant collecting container(13), a base member(15), a cover(17) and a contaminant counterflow preventing unit. The cyclone dust collector is separably combined to a dust collecting chamber of a cleaner body. The cylindrical cyclone body has a contaminant discharge outlet(11a) formed near an end portion to discharge the contaminants centrifugally separated from the suction air. The contaminant collecting container is installed outside the cyclone body to collect the contaminants discharged through the contaminant discharge outlet. The cover is combined to respective upper ends of the cyclone body and the contaminant collecting container. An air inlet path(17a) and an air discharge path(17b) for flowing in and out air are formed in the cover. The contaminant counterflow preventing unit guides the discharge of contaminants to the contaminant collecting container from the cyclone body and prevents counterflow of the collected contaminants to the cyclone body. Therefore, cyclone efficiency and performance of a cleaner are improved.
