PURPOSE: A credit card clearing system and a method for controlling the system are provided to prevent a financial accident by selectively authenticating a credit card and the owner of the credit card via a mobile communication system and using password, voice, fingerprint or the ESN(Electronic Serial Number) of a microcomputer of a mobile communication terminal as an authentication signal. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of reading the data of a credit card via a credit card checking machine and transmitting the data to a card use control unit via a communication device(S10), controlling the clearing of a credit card after authentication of the credit card by comparing the data of the credit card to the data stored in a card authentication database(S20), and performing normal credit card clearing or disapproving the use of the credit card by comparing the authentication signal transmitted from the possessor of a mobile communication terminal to the authentication signal stored in a customer authentication database(S30).
