Cosmetic stick composition containing siloxane-based polyamides

A siloxane-based polyamide (described in the formula shown) as a gelling agent for cosmetic products. The methods for making such agents, formulations thereof and cosmetic formulations are disclosed. These polyamides contain siloxane groups in the main chain and act to thicken compositions containing volatile and/or non-volatile silicone fluids. Cosmetic compositions may be made by adding at least one active ingredient such as an antiperspirant. Wherein; (a) n is a number selected from the group consisting of 1-500, n is the number of units in the polyamide; (b) DP represents an average value for degree of polymerisation of the siloxane units and is selected from 1-700; (c) X is a linear or branched chain alkylene having 1-30 carbons; (d) Each R1-R4 is independently selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, a siloxane chain and phenyl, wherein the phenyl may optionally be substituted by 1-3 members from the group consisting of methyl and ethyl; and (e) Y is selected from the group consisting of linear or branched chain alkylenes having 1-40 carbons
