A composition comprising at least one biologically active agent and a compound of the formula shown (compound 109 in NZ Patent 337131), wherein the active agent is selected from the group consisting of human and bovine growth hormones, interferons, interleukin-I, interleukin-II, insulin, heparin, calcitonin, eryrhropoietin, atrial naturetic factor, antigens, monoclonal antibodies, somatostatin, adrenocorticotropin, gonadotrophin releasing hormone, oxytocin, vasopressin, cromolyn sodium, vancomycin, parathyroid hormone, and any combination thereof.
