A means for straining a wire fence is disclosed. It comprises a post that is attached to both the wire fence and a stationary fence post, so that it can be rotated and then locked into position, allowing the strain on the fence to be either tightened or loosened. The lock is such that it can be engaged into an aperture in the rotatable post, while the other end can abut the fence post to prevent slackening of the tension created in the fence.
