PURPOSE: A personal ad-hoc network(PAN) managing method is provided to draw backup master information for selecting a new master, to set a backup master to a master, and to reset interconnection between a slave and the backup master, in case that an equipment for playing a role of a PAN master is not operated as a master at a predetermined point of time. CONSTITUTION: A PAN master receives connection information from PAN slaves in order to confirm a connection state with all slaves in a PAN(S310). The connection information received signal strength indications(RSSI) and/or link quality information. The PAN master determines the order of a backup master according to the connection information(S330). If the backup master order for each slave is determined, the PAN master matches the order of the determined backup master and information for each slave so as to be transferred to all of the slaves(S350). The PAN master determines the order of the backup master every predetermined period, and informs the determined order the slaves.
