PURPOSE: Provided is a method for manufacturing a rod of a mop having a high strength by using wood powders, waste MDF or waste synthetic resin (P.V.C), thereby increasing the utility of such waste materials. CONSTITUTION: The method includes blending 50 to 75 wt% of waste synthetic resin (P.V.C.) powders, 30 to 15 wt% of wood powders and 20 to 15 wt% of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), adding any additives commonly used in extrusion of a synthetic resin such as a foaming agent, an anti-plasticizer, a wax, a thermal stabilizer, and the like, and extruding the blend by a commonly used extruding method. The powders are waste MDF powders. The rod of a mop produced by the above method has a superior impact strength and tensile strength.
