PURPOSE: Structure of a cowl cross bar for a vehicle is provided to improve collision performance by increasing the strength despite the reduced weight and to absorb vibration and noise. CONSTITUTION: The end portion of a cowl cross bar(100) supporting a steering column is divided, and a cast support unit(10) is connected to the divided end portion. The support unit includes a body(11) supporting the steering column and a pair of support bars(12). The support bars are combined to the cowl cross bar and a connecting bracket(16) fixed on a pillar panel. The body is formed in a corrugated shape, and ribs(13) are formed onto the upper face of the body.
