Industrial truck speed control apparatus (22) compares a set speed value (Vsoll) to the actual speed from a speed transducer (30). Speed regulator (32) determines the set motive force. Signals corresponding to the motive force and the actual speed are passed to a memory stage (34) which contains optimal force and rotational speed values for the motor, and which assigns a set rotational speed value. A pressure control unit (20) compares an actual value of pump pressure with a set value ( DELTA psoll), and a pressure regulator (26) produces a variation signal for the pump delivery volume. Transducer (39) determines a set pressure value from the set motive force and the drive system parameters.
