PURPOSE: Structure of a back beam for a vehicle bumper is provided to reduce weight and production cost by reducing the thickness and sectional shape of a back beam and by changing the shape of an impact face and to improve fuel efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A bumper comprises a bumper cover embedding a shock absorbing material(30) and a back beam having a support face(12) supported on a sidewall of the shock absorbing material. The back beam is bent toward the rear part of a vehicle. Herein, a shock absorbing recessed face(14b) having specific height and width is formed in the center of the support face. The recessed face is bent toward the front part of the vehicle. A first rail(10) of the back beam is made with a steel plate having high tensile strength to reduce the thickness of a section, the width of the first rail and the height of the support face. Therefore, weight and production cost of the back beam are reduced. According to the recessed face, impact performance is improved.
