PURPOSE: A carbonate ion selective FIA biosensor and a quantitative analysis method of isocitrate using it are provided, thereby exactly quantifying isocitrate in foods. CONSTITUTION: The carbonate ion selective FIA(flow injection analysis ) biosensor comprises 0.1M Tris-H2SO4 carrier buffer(pH 7.5), 0.6M Tris-H2SO4 carrier buffer(pH 11.0), a reactor packed with isocitric dehydrogenase-immobilized glass beads, carbonate ion selective membrane, and carbonate ion selective electrode in FIA system. The quantitative analysis of isocitrate is accomplished by subjecting 100 microliter of a food sample to the carbonate ion selective FIA biosensor under conditions of flow rate of 13.6 ml/hr,where the tube has the inner diameter of 0.89 mm.
