PURPOSE: An ATM signal processing apparatus is provided to be capable of using an ATM node address which is applied to an ATM-based IMT-2000 system. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of channel cards(1100) convert data from a terminal into an ATM cell to transfer the ATM cell to a digital unit interface card assembly(DUIA)(1200) or a BTS control processor(BCP)(1300). The DUIA(1200) transfers information of ATM adaptation layer(AAL)2/AAL5 format from the channel cards into a B-link ATM board assembly(BAIA)(1500) through an ATM 25M interface. A cell bus controller(1400) switches an ATM cell in an ATM cell bus into a corresponding node. A local router(2100) switches an ATM cell sent from the BAIA(1500) in the base station(1000) into a control station(200) and transfers ATM cells from each block in the control station(2000) into the base station(1000). A call control processor(CCP)(2200) performs a call process function of the control station(2000), and a plurality of vocodes(2300) performs power control, hand-off process and vocoding functions. An enhanced vocoder operating assembly(EVIA)(2400) performs an interface function between the local router(2100) and the vocoders(2300).
