The invention concerns an intervertebral fusion cage (1) for immobilising the spine comprising a central hollow space (2) designed to be filled with bone fragments. The invention is characterised in that said hollow space (2) is delimited by a helical structure (3) consisting of helical turns (4) non contiguous axially, so as to enable said cage to be removed by unscrewing the helical structure. The invention also concerns a method for making an intervertebral fusion cage (1).
