KEY IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A key identification system is provided to reduce the number of units, to use conveniently, to improve key identification, and to increase speed by checking the key blank corresponding to the master key based on image from a receiver with a control unit. CONSTITUTION: A key identification system(20) checks the key blank corresponding to a master key(32). The system includes a first luminous surface(24) and a second luminous surface(26). The second luminous surface is disposed opposite the first luminous surface, so the master key is placed between luminous surfaces. The first and second luminous surfaces are operable to generate an image of the master key. A receiver is provided to capture the image of the master key. The system includes a control unit having a memory storing information on plural key blanks. The control unit identifies the key blank corresponding to the master key based on the image captured by the receiver.
