<p>A removable hard disk drive unit (3) to be combined for operation with an optical disk drive unit having an insertion slot into which an optical disk cartridge can be inserted, comprising a magnetic head (32) having an outer shape permitting the insertion thereof into the optical disk drive unit via the insertion slot and recording/reproducing data to/from a magnetic disk (31) while kept inserted in the optical disk drive unit, and conversion units (33-38) for converting optical signals from the data recording/reproducing optical head of the optical disk drive unit into electric signals for imparting to the magnetic head (32) and converting electric signals from the magnetic head (32) into optical signals for imparting to the data recording/reproducing optical head of the optical disk drive unit.</p> |
