PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the temperature estimating device of an electric motor that estimates the temperature of the electric motor without using any temperature sensors, and can greatly reduce the estimation error in temperature. SOLUTION: This temperature estimating device of the electric motor is equipped with an input power calculation means F1 that calculates input power IPW of the electric motor M, an output power calculation means F2 that calculates output power OPW of the electric motor M, a power difference operation means F3 that obtains the difference value between the input power IPW calculated by the input power calculation means F1 and the output power OPW calculated by the output power calculation means F2, and a motor temperature estimation means F4 that estimates the temperature of the electric motor M according to the difference value between the input power and output power IPW and OPW calculated by the power difference operation means F3. |
