PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink composition which stably maintains an ink viscosity even after stored for a long period, does not cause the precipitation of a pigment, has good dispersion stability, and a stable quality. SOLUTION: This aqueous ink composition which is used for ball-point pens and comprises a pigment and water, characterized by containing as a thickener a polysaccharide obtained by thermally treating a polysaccharide containing at least glucose, fucose, glucuronic acid and rhamnose as constituting monosaccharides in a >=8 pH aqueous solution at 60 to 180 deg.C. |
