PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parameter list generator and its method by which the contents of an image parameter list are updated every time image file information recorded on a recording medium is updated so as to quickly generate image directly information browsed by a user through remote control and to exhibit the information to the user and to provide an image information transmitting apparatus, an image information acquisition method and its system. SOLUTION: The parameter list generator (electronic camera 10) is provided with a parameter list generating means (information processing means 44) that generates or updates a parameter list in which attached information with respect to images recorded on a recording medium 54 and a parameter denoting the property of the images in cross-reference with the attached information regarding the image files; and stores the parameter list to the recording medium 54. Even when the recording medium 54 is holding many images, the parameter list generator (electronic camera 10) can quickly generate image directory information on the basis of the generated or updated parameter list and exhibit the information to a user.
