PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for eradicating harmful bacteria and virus are provided to ensure the safety of postal matters and luggage in a case of any bacteriological terror. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for eradicating harmful bacteria and virus for the prevention of any bacteriological terror comprises an electromagnetic wave irradiation device for uniformly generating a specific electromagnetic wave including X-rays region. The eradicating method thereof comprises the steps for emitting the specific electromagnetic wave of radiation region by controlling the electromagnetic wave irradiation device; passing any postal matters and luggage under the emission of the electromagnetic wave for constant time to eradicate the harmful bacteria contained in the postal matters and luggage.
