PURPOSE: A lithium secondary battery containing gel type polymeric electrolyte is provided, which is prepared by polymerization in the battery and has excellent ion conductibility, electrochemical stability, etc. CONSTITUTION: The lithium secondary battery includes (i) an electrode assembly having a cathode, an anode and a separator interposed between the cathode and the anode, (ii) a gel type polymeric electrolyte comprising 100 wt.% of a prepolymer of a copolymer composed of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene, 100 to 3000 wt.% of dicarbonate and 100 to 1500 wt.% of organic liquid electrolyte containing lithium salts, and (iii) a case having the electrode assembly and the electrolyte. The separator is formed nonwoven fabrics of polyolefins or polyesters. The solvent containing lithium salts comprises 0.7 to 1 mole of LiPF6 dissolved in a mixture of ethylene carbonate and propylene carbonate in a ratio of 1:1. |
