PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional image generation system which automates the feature point setting and batch setting processing of a photographed image and can generate a three-dimensional image of high picture quality. SOLUTION: Object characteristics are detected and a three-dimensional model generation area based upon a shape model stored in a database is automatically extracted. For example, the area of face, etc., is automatically detected. A feature point is automatically set in the area of an image according to feature point position setting data of an object model stored in the database with respect to the extracted object area. This method is more accurate and securer than a general way of determining a feature window with feature variable evaluated values. Further, a triangular patch by the model is automatically generated for an extracted feature point and then wire frame rendering matching the actual object shape becomes possible, so that respective processes of the three-dimensional model generating process are automated. |
