PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger in which water leakage can be positively detected, when a leakage occurs in a sub heat-exchanger. SOLUTION: The water heater is provided with a combustion burner 8 below a combustion chamber 4, a heat exchanger 14 for heating water by using exhaust gas from the burner 8, a water-supply flow path 22 for supplying water to the heat exchanger 14, and a flow path 26 for hot water flow from the heat exchanger 14. A drain pan 16 is placed in the combustion chamber 4 for collecting condensate in the sub heat-exchanger 20. A draining means 30 is provided in the drain pan 16 for discharging the condensate, and a leakage detector 42 is provided in connection with the drain pan 16 or the draining means 30. |
