PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly form an image free from uneven density by reducing banding. SOLUTION: As for the image forming device for forming an image by developing an electrostatic latent image formed on a latent image carrier 140 by using a contact-developing device 10, the image forming device is provided with the developing device 10 for forming a thin developer layer on the developer carrier through a layer forming member, and then, applying an AC- superposed bias on the developer carrier, and a latent image forming means 40 for performing an image processing by a vertical ten thousand lines screen and forming the electrostatic latent image on the latent image carrier, and the developer carrying quantity is stabilized so as to reduce the banding. The AC-superposed bias for forming a uniform linear developer carrying surface in a longitudinal direction is applied on the developer carrier, and as for the layer forming member, urethane rubber having a rubber hardness of 55 to 80 deg. and a semiconductor rubber tip are arranged at the leading end of the layer forming member, and the layer forming member is brought into contact with the seal part of the developer carrier without the intermediary developer. |
