PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road traffic amount control method and a system therefor capable of performing a traffic control on the basis of an anticipation tendency of atmospheric pollution such as NOx. SOLUTION: This system is characterized by having signals from NOx sensors 12 arranged in corresponding respective traffic control areas, signals from vehicle traffic density measuring means 13 of plural traffic density measuring areas leading to the respective traffic control object areas, signals for acquiring a meteorological condition of the respective traffic control object areas or a meteorological condition of a range for covering these plural control object areas and a controller for sending out a signal for performing a traffic countermeasure in the direction for reducing an NOx anticipation tendency value of the respective traffic control object areas by performing a prescribed operation by taking in the respective signals. A sending-out means of the respective signals of a branch line (a bypass road) is an HTML convertible communication terminal, and the controller is a WWW server, and both are connected via an Internet network.
