PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document managing device capable of easily managing image data. SOLUTION: A FAX server and a document server 4, etc., are mutually connected via a communication network T. A RAM 13 of the document server 4 stores an attribute imparting table to be constituted of items of information regarding attributes and items of output attributes corresponding to the information regarding the attribute. And the document server 4 imparts the output attributes to the image data from the FAX server based on the attribute imparting table. Consequently, the image data are easily managed based on the output attributes imparted to the image data. Specifically, a data base of the image data is easily constructed based on the output attributes imparted to the image data.
