PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly keep the gap between transparent substrates regardless of the temperature such as normal temperature or high temperature. SOLUTION: The device has transparent substrates disposed facing each other through a liquid crystal and has a plurality of spacer formed as fixed to the side of one transparent substrate and supporting the other substrate. The spacer consists of a first spacer and a second spacer. The first spacer is formed from of a material having high elasticity than the second spacer and is formed higher.
