PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aspheric spectacle lens of which diopter can be easy measured approximately equally to a spherical spectacle lens, which is less degraded in performance by assuring an permissible level of eccentricity and has excellent wearing stability. SOLUTION: In the method for designing the single-focus aspheric spectacle lens which has a pair of refraction surfaces of a first surface and a second surface and in which the first refraction surface has an aspheric surface and the other refraction surface has a spherical surface, the initial shape of the aspheric spectacle lens is determined in a designing step and the astigmatism or power error when the lens is not eccentric and the astigmatism or power error when the lens is eccentric when the shape of the aspheric spectacle lens is changed by a prescribed amount are calculated by ray tracing and the optimization of the aberration correction of the lens by the eccentricity described above is performed, by which the shape of the lens is determined.
