The device determines the revolution rate of an induction motor using the saliency tracking method with a signal processing arrangement integrated into a sensor for measuring the electric current. The values of the trigonometric function for computing the rotation transformation in the rotating reference system are approximated with 1,0 and -1 and implemented with switches; a frequency divider is connected between the oscillator and the switches.
