Test kit for detecting, in aqueous solution, chemical warfare agents (I) of the alkylating type that act on the skin comprises a solution of 4-(4-nitrobenzyl)pyridine (I) in acetone or acetonitrile and a strong organic base (III) in toluene. An Independent claim is also included for a method for detecting (I) using this kit.
