Opaque biaxially oriented polyester film with at least one adhesion-promoted surface includes an ultraviolet (UV) stabilizer and comprises at least one layer containing 2-60 wt.% of a cycloolefin copolymer (COC) with a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 70-270 deg C. An Independent claim is also included for a process for producing the film, comprising (co)extruding melt(s) corresponding to the individual layer(s) of the film, withdrawing the film over one or more rolls, biaxially stretching the film, optionally coating the film, thermofixing the film and optionally subjecting a surface of the film to corona discharge or flame treatment.
