PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a one-board computer and a method therefor are provided so that a production cost can be cut down by reducing redundant parts by replacing devices on a monitor board by devices on a logic board. CONSTITUTION: A logic board(100) includes a central processing unit(110) for reading a horizontal/vertical synchronous signal from a display control unit(120), deciding a resolution, reading resolution information from a storing medium(140), and directly outputting the information to a horizontal/vertical processor(220) of a monitor board(200), a display control unit(120) for outputting R, G and B signals to a video output circuit(210) of the monitor board(200) according to a control signal from the central processing unit(110), and a storing medium(140) for storing the resolution information. The monitor board(200) includes the horizontal/vertical processor(220) for outputting the resolution information from the central processing unit(110) to the video output circuit(210), and a video output circuit(210) for displaying the R, G and B signals from the display control unit(120) to a display unit according to the resolution set up by the horizontal/vertical processor(220).
