<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device without residual image. SOLUTION: A drain electrode 20 and a source electrode 21 are tilted relative to the longitudinal direction of a pixel electrode 24 and a common electrode 14 (called also a comb-teeth electrode), and the liquid crystal is made to be not rotated by the electric field between the drain electrode 20 and the source electrode 22 by making the electric field generated between the drain electrode 20 and the source electrode 22 coincide with the initial alignment direction of the liquid crystal on a TFT element. In such a manner, even when the device performs fixed display for a long time, the TFT characteristic can always be maintained at a constant state, and image persistence is not generated.</p> |
