PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maleimide copolymer having exceedingly high heat resistance and good heat stability, being capable of being improved by kneading with an amorphous highly heat-resistant resin such as a polyarylate, a polysulfone, or a polyether sulfone, and giving a composition capable of forming a molding having beautiful appearance. SOLUTION: There is provided a maleimide copolymer, which copolymer has a specified composition, a weight-average molecular weight of 100,000-220,000, a molecular weight distribution (weight-average molecular weight/number-average molecular weight ratio) of 1.8-2.5, a melt viscosity of above 600 Pa.S as measured at a temperature of 280 deg.C at a shear rate of 1,000 s-1, and a glass transition temperature of 165-215 deg.C.
