To dry wet ground with vegetation of stems and leaves, and especially grass, a beam (1) is pulled or moved by sliding over the grass, with a number of comb tine projections on its under side. Stripping hooks are at the trailing edge of the beam, or there are chain sections (16) or air blowing jets. The beam is fitted with weights (5).
