BLADE DAMPER AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade damper of a turbine engine to damp vibration of a blade in the turbine engine. SOLUTION: The blade damper includes a slender main body extending between a front end part and a rear end part opposed to this front end part. The main body is in dimensions and in a shape to be accepted in a clearance formed between adjacent platforms of a blade, and consequently, the main body damps vibration of the blade and prevents passing of air through the clearance to which the air corresponds by frictionally being engaged with the adjacent platform while the engine is driven. The damper also includes a retainer installed at least on one of the front end part and the rear end part of the main body. The retainer is in dimensions and in a shape to be accepted in a recessed part formed on at least one of the adjacent blades to hold the main body between the blades. The retainer is in dimensions and in a shape to prevent passing of air between the blade and the retainer while the engine is driven.
