PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize reduction in size and cost of a power converter by reducing a wiring inductance between a smoothing capacitor and a power converting module and also effectively cooling the power converting module and smoothing capacitor. SOLUTION: The power converter is composed of the smoothing capacitor 2 for smoothing a DC power supply 1 and the power converting module 4 consisting of a plurality of switching elements 4U to 4Z to convert the DC power source smoothed by the smoothing capacitor 2 to the predetermined AC power source. In this power converter, the smoothing capacitor 2, power converting module 4 and a heat sink 10 for cooling the power converting module 4 are laminated in the three layers in the height direction. |
