PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter with no change of picture color in a heat treatment step, and an alkaline developable composition for the color filter suited for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The composition for the color filter contains a binder resin and/or a compound having a polymerizable group, provided with an acidic group (1), a pigment (2) and a dispersing agent (3). The dispersing agent is an A-B block copolymer consisting of an A block with a quaternary ammonium base in a side chain and a B block with no quaternary ammonium base and/or a B-A-B block copolymer.
