PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystalline oxidative polymer of a phenol having a saturated hydrocarbon group with not less than 10 carbon atoms but no substituent at 2-position and/or 6-position. SOLUTION: This substituted phenol oxidative polymer is an oxidative polymer obtained by oxidative polymerization of a substituted phenol shown by general formula (I) and has a number average degree of polymerization of not less than 3. In the formula, R1 to R4 each shows independently, a hydrogen atom, hydrocarbon group, substituted hydrocarbon group, hydrocarbonoxy group, amino group, substituted amino group, mercapto group, substituted mercapto group, or halogen atom, R1 and R2, and R2 and R3 and/or R3 and R4 may form a ring, but R1 and/or R4 are each a hydrogen atom, and at least one of R1 to R4 shows a saturated hydrocarbon group having not less than 10 carbon atoms or a substituted saturated hydrocarbon group having not less than 10 carbon atoms.
