PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a connection of chord sequences from becoming musically unnatural even when some chords of the given chord sequences are changed. SOLUTION: A user selects chord sequences of one piece of music consisting of the chord sequences (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f). Then the part of chord sets (c) and (d) as some of the chord sequences (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) is changed into other chords according to user's preference or to match a given motif melody. In this case, a chord b* naturally connecting to the chord (a) and the changed chord (c) is automatically determined and the chord (b) is automatically changed into the determined chord b*. Further, a chord e* naturally connecting to the changed chord (d) and chord (f) is automatically determined and the chord (e) is automatically changed into the determined chord e*.
