PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position adjusting device for optical modulators in which relative positions of the modulators are quickly adjusted and positioning is properly performed. SOLUTION: The position adjusting device 2 for adjusting mutual positions of optical modulators of a projector provided with the optical modulators, is provided with detector devices 55. Each of the devices 55 is made up with a red color light image pick-up element, a green color light image pick-up element 55G and a blue color light image pick-up element 55B which respond to the color light beams emitted from the optical modulators of an optical unit 170 that constitutes of the projector. Since each of the devices 55 is provided with the red color light image pick-up element, the element 55G and the element 55B which respond to the color light beams emitted from the optical modulators and each color light beams are detected by individual image pick-up elements 55G and 55B, simultaneous position adjustment and positioning of optical modulators are conducted and quick position adjustment and positioning are performed. |
